I would also recommend that instead of using the word fridge, you use the word fridge door instead. That would sound more natural as well as less confusing.
The other thing you can do is to use the word refrigerator door to mean the door to the fridge. That isnt a very good sentence but it can be a lot more concise.And as I said before, I don’t find the word fridge door very confusing. I would just write it like this. I think that your sentences are more readable.

I dont think that most people would use the word refrigerator door in such a context. Its simply too generic. The word fridge door also has a different meaning in different contexts. So you could use that word as you would use refrigerator door.I am not sure if fridge door means the door of the fridge or the fridge.
