General Manekshaw, the painting guy who has been helping us with the paint jobs for our new house, has been trying to get his wife to let him paint the inside of her house. It seems like he’s having a hard time since the house is in her family’s hands, but I told her that she needs to give him the freedom to paint the entire exterior of her home.
Here’s the deal, the exterior of my house is a mess. It’s a very nice house, but some of the trim is not there. Most of the windows are broken, the doors are open, the gutters are coming down, and the house is literally falling apart. To get the exterior painted would mean that they’d have to repair everything, and not just the small stuff like the trim.
My first instinct is to suggest that you paint it, but in addition to the exterior walls, we also have an interior wall that is in need of repair. It’s also a mess and I wouldn’t want to take that risk. I would rather have a clean exterior that doesn’t need to be touched and a nice clean home that can be lived in without having to touch it.
The exterior is also the first thing people see when they walk into the home. It’s just a facade, and people don’t pay a lot of attention to the interior of the house. But once you start noticing the things that need to be fixed and repainted, it gives you a better idea of what your home needs to look like.
