I have always loved reading and writing poetry but the more I started learning, the more I found myself thinking about it more and more. I have always loved it, and now I am definitely obsessed with it. I have found myself reading more and writing more every day. I like to call myself a ‘poetess’.
My first novel, The Light of Light, has a very clear message about the darkness of night. In that poem, the light shines into the darkness of night.
I feel like poetry is the ultimate form of self-awareness, as it is the ultimate form of self-expression. I feel like it is the ultimate form of self-expression because it is so personal. As we all know, people who write poetry or write prose may not feel like they’re expressing themselves very well, but that’s the beauty of it. There is no need to try to hide our emotions or thoughts. We are all expressing ourselves.
My husband and I have long held poet-in-laws to be the most insightful and intelligent family in the world. And, in recent years, we have noticed that our family seems to be especially sensitive to the light in the darkness of the poet’s mind.
It’s the best way to describe it.
We are a poetic family. We love poetry. And we love to read it and see it in action. It’s a great way to learn about ourselves and other people.
